Please only book Thursday 7-9pm if you meet that qualification. Intermediate sewing class can be booked through the calendar. All further projects require students to bring their own fabric, thread etc. that is needed to complete that specific project. A materials list is provided to beginner students at the end of the first class.

After college, knitting became special with the realization that you are creating your own pattern that ultimately becomes a wearable piece. Now, she always has at least two projects going at the same time and one is usually for charity. Speaking of sewing machines, Jessica says that Stitch House Dallas is the only sewing store in the country with multiple classrooms that provide sewing machines for use. All machines are top-of-the-line with the latest technology that most people would never get to use in a home machine. In addition to the online presence, customers can still go into the store to shop for fabric and notions, ask questions about sewing machine issues or get machines repaired. Shelley has been knitting and sewing since childhood.
Annissa was a teacher at East Boston High School for 13 years prior to being elected to the Boston City Council. Annissa is a mom to 4 great boys 17 year old Douglas and 16 year old triplets Charlie, Kayden and Samir. Annissa and her husband Doug are both life-long residents of Dorchester and live just up the street from the Stitch House.

Taught by her grandmother, she also has a love affair with buttons. Many times the buttons are chosen first and the yarn or fabric will follow. A former owner of a quilting shop, Shelley now spends just about all her creative hours knitting. She is the organizer of Sheep Ahoy Knitters' Cruise.
In college her and her roommate would create an assembly line and sew hair scrunchies to sell in the dorms to fund take-out dinner or a night on the town. After college Annissa had a small line of custom, special occasion children’s clothing featured in several retail shops. Annissa made her own prom dress, wedding gown and all her bridesmaid dresses and flower girl dresses. She’s also made countless quilts and hand-crafted gifts for her friends and family. Although sewing is her passion she enjoys the portability of knitting and crocheting and always has several projects going at once.
“Most of our business is helping customers get the most out of their hobby with education and teaching. I like to think of the store as YouTube in real life, where we can answer questions that may not be found online. We also spend time coming up with creative classes to excite a variety of people and teach them about sewing, quilting and embroidery,” Jessica said.

At age 6 her mom stayed up late teaching her to sew her first project - a Barbie skirt! She never stopped sewing and you would find her late at night, throughout high school and college, sewing. As a teenager she was national finalist in a McCall’s Pattern Company sewing contest.
StitchSpace builds community by showcasing the progress of its students at our StitchSpace Showcase. An outlet for people interested in textiles and other fiber arts, StitchSpace LA is a place to experiment and find what kind of “making” makes them happy. “Our typical customer has changed because we’re seeing a lot of younger sewers, and that’s really exciting,” Jessica said. When Robyn is not knitting she enjoys cooking, reading and watching sports.
